Black Sunday
Most of us make mix tapes or burn CD's of various artists of our favorite tunes. So, to get a better understanding of your musical tastes I was wondering what the best mix tape you ever made had on it......and yes, mix CDR's also count. Doesn't matter if you made it, your boyfriend made it for you, you stole it from your best friends sisters neighbors kids when you were 12 years old. I want the details on what the tape/CD has on it. First mix tape I got my hands on was one that a friend of mine (who was about 7 years older than me) gave me my sophmore year of high school that had been given to her when she had been in high school. I don't remember the exact tract listing, but it included: Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen Men Without Hats - Pop Goes the World Dead Milkmen - Right Wing Pigeons From Outer Space Duran Duran - Wild Boys Sex Pistols - Pretty Vacant Dead Milkmen - Bitchin' Camero Siouxsie & The Banshees - Spellbound Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me 'Round Men Without Hats - Safety Dance Suicidal Tendencies - I Saw Your Mommy Wall of Voodoo - Mexican Radio
Black Sunday
good stuff bav. My best so far was in 2001. I borrowed my friend's entire CD collection and listened to about 50 CD's that night and noted which songs I liked. Those songs ended up opening me to alot of other music I listen to now. I still listen to this mix in the car all the time. 1) apoptygma bezerk - kathy's song 2) covenant - like tears in rain 3) hooverphonic - shake the disease 4) hideous input - i am not alive 5) joy electric - sugar rush 6) de/vision - blue moon 7) radio free america - girlfriend for a day 8) computorgirl - (drawing a blank on the name of the song) 9) melotron - auf der suche 10) somebody (forget) featuring peter hebner - glasgarten 11) leihodorous - (again, i am drawing a blank on the name of the song) 12) nueroactive - as if we didn't know that mix cd got played so much I had to burn more copies of it as a backup in case I messed it up. That mix got me to exploring deeper and deeper into synthpop until I found more and more stuff I like and thanks to the internet I find even more obscure synthpop....... Ginevra
I make CDs to listen to at work. I work retail and in the backroom, so they permit music as long as it's not vulgar and with the understanding that it's a privalege and not a right. We have a lot of musical tastes in our backroom so I try to make CDs so that even if you don't like what's currently playing, you'll probably like what comes up next. I don't have my CDRs right here in front of me so I'm going off memory, but offhand: Black Flag - Rise Above Evil Nine ft. Aesop Rock - Crooked Husker Du - Don't Want to Know If You're Lonely Henry Rollins & The Hard Ons - Let There Be Rock (AC/DC cover) Iron Maiden - Prodigal Son Radiohead - Creep Sex Pistols - Anarchy in the UK Seether ft. Amy Lee - Broken Korn - Freak on a Leash Interpol - C'mere Limp Bizkit - My Way (DJ Lethal Remix) A Tribe Called Quest - Can I Kick It Cake - Friend is a Four Lettered Word Chemical Brothers - Get Yourself High Evanescence - Haunted Everlast - You Might Know What It's Like Eskobar - Violence John Legend - Used to Love You (aka Used 2 love u) KMFDM - Mortal Kombat Theme Rob Zombie - Brick House DMX - Up In Here Pantera - Walk House of Pain - Jump Around Rammstein - Mein Herz Brennt Voodoo & Serano (Blade 2 House of Pain Rave) - Blood is Pumpin' (Pumpin' Club Mix) Limp Bizkit - Rollin' (DJ Monk vs The Track Remix) I know, I know, most is not Goth, it's not a lot of things. But this is some of the music I enjoy the most.
Marblez
The only mixed CD I have ever made includes: The Beautiful People - Marilyn Manson I Wanna Be Sedated - The Ramones Peek A Boo - Siouxsie and the Banshees Don't Get Me Wrong - The Pretenders Ballroom Blitz - Sweet Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck - Prong Rebel Yell - Billy Idol Pictures of You - The Cure Personal Jesus - Depeche Mode Space Oddity - David Bowie Magic Man - Heart Hurt - Nine Inch Nails Shadows of the Night - Pat Benatar Mother - Danzig How Soon is Now - The Smiths And yes, I will admit, it is very eclectic and very commercial. But I do not generally OWN CDs. I usually listen to the Radio.
