What I was working on all night long

It's actually the back of a pair of pamajas.

The story: my dad still wears broadcloth pajamas. He won't touch lounge pants & t-shirts. For years, we had actual Christmas list forms to fill-in, and my dad would always put "Item - Pajamas. Color - WOW".

We could never find anything very "wow" in broadcloth pajamas.

So this year, I MADE him "wow" pajamas.

I found a nice pair of pajamas in shades of blue plaid, and dyed them the purple they are now. The back is painted with airbrush paints. I got the text style from FlamingText.com.

And that's what I was working on from about 8:00 p.m. last night until 9:05 a.m. this morning.

And I think I'm going to put just the exclaimation point on the front pocket. Teaser for when he opens the box.

Thanks, all!

I don't use an actual airbrush. I use regular paint brushes, but airbrush or textile/fabric paint. I'll post a picture of my Journey jacket sometime. I re-created the cover art from their "Captured" album (the round, winged scarab within winged scarab etc. by Stanley Mouse) the same way - THAT came out great.

The yellow is actually metallic gold, thus the mottled look.

It only took me all night because I needed to bleach out the area where the orange lettering is, and I was using a batik-style wax method to keep the rest of it from bleaching. Things kept not going right, and I had to keep starting over.
