Resins and incense

Recommended Posts

I got blue copal and white copal resins from my cousin for xmas. He also gave me this burner and you light a tea light under the little bowl and put a couple chunks of the resin in there and let them melt...i guess it will make your house smell good.

I also got some nagchampa incense. I already own a huge box of this stuff. Its the best smelling incense I think.

Is anyone familiar with the warming of resins?

Can anyone recommend a good smelling incense? I highly recommmend nag if you have never heard of it or smelled it!

if you have resins and chunks i find it best to get charcoal disks, you light them, they spark a bit, you see the red run over the surface and then they turn a bit white in areas, place it on a dish that can handle heat directly to its surface (i have a mini iron caouldron that i place on a cork board disk) drop the dry stuff on the charcoal and let it burn.....

the dish with the candle sounds to me like it should be used for oils mixed with water not the Dry stuff, i have seen people use the dry stuff and crack there burner and i also get warned every time i buy a burner casue i call stuff the wrong thing all the time.

Oh I agree Dragons Blood is Great and it helps purify/honor

Sage smells like B.O. ~ IMH ~ but is great to for cleansing/blessing a home

Frankensense and Myrth are pretty nice I forgot what they are for.......

I get these sticks at BTD's on Gratiot in roseville called HArmony they are pretty nice too but then again i might have outside influences to alter my decision :wink

to early in the morning but if i think of any others i really enjoyed the sent and the meanings behind them i will add em.

I used to make my own but am too busy at this point to do much brewing. This website

has all kinds of yummy ingredients that can be used to scent blank cones or for mixing into simmering herbs.

Essential Oil Company

I used to buy resins from a mail order herb shop out of San Francisco but I am sure there are comparable shops around here now.

Thanks for all the info guys!

I did use my burner and the tealight under it caused the glaze to turn to black and peel off. At first I thought the bowl had cracked but it still seems to be ok.

Guess I need to get some of these charcoal disks you speak of. I hope I can find some around here. Maybe the weird book store will carry them.

I love to burn scented candles as well. I have so many candles in my house that if there was a power outage we would still be able to see at least and get around in every room. LOL! :grin

I prefer candles, you get the scent and the added benefit of the lighting,  flickering flame, dancing shadows...

Incense always reminds me of friends that smoked weed.  Way too much.
