Draco1958
Won't do them much good, the Feds will say Federal law overrides their state law just like they are doing in California over the medical use of it.

Homicidalheathen
The Feds don't go by state laws it's true. But it will help unless you get it from your doctor. Then they will come bust your ass. My doctor told me he would prescribe it but we want to stay out of jail. I have a picture of a medical user in a wheel chair being busted. I say if your in a wheel chair, smoke whatever you want. Far be it from me to stop you, I have no idea how hard his life must be but the guy is pretty sick. We thought of moving to Bolder, nice college town.....very hip. EXPENSIVE.

odims_sphere
While technically still illegal in Ann Arbor my brother found out that an underage tobacco fine is more expencive then a fine for possesion of weed. He was cought smoking a cigarette at age 17 and fined $60. a week later he was cought with a pipe and a bag of weed and was fined $5 and his week was confiscated. Msterbeau
Denver: Population 554,636 Ferndale: Population 22,105 True... But in both cases it's mute since either state or federal law trump the municipal ordinance.
kellygrrrrrl
What the hell.....why don't they just legalize it? It is so much better than cigarettes......liquor, as it is not addictive.....at least I don't find it addictive.....it doesn not impair......I don't find it to be impairing... Ok, so yeah, the whole smoking thing is bad for you, but if you brew it, and or put it in food, it has the same effect, plus some I think.....It has health benefits, cigarettes er' nicotine is a plants natural pesticide......marijuana does not have a poison or pesticide in it....maybe soem little incects or mold....but you can boil them out. Not tryin to down play smokers or boozers....I do both, but both are so much worse than smoking pot. They should make a THC pill.....and call it xanax....or wellbutrin, or St.Johns Wort.... Blackmail
I don't use the stuff but I say legalize it in a few states and tax the hell out of it. Tax revenues need to be increased and I am not in favor of raising non-consumption taxes.
Guest Game of Chance
True... But in both cases it's mute since either state or federal law trump the municipal ordinance. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Only if you're busted by the Feds. When is the last time you heard about a federal case involving possession of less than an ounce. Those types of cases are typically left to the locals. Also (being somewhat of an expert in municipal finance), I'd like to see better cash flow management and more experienced investors. Its amazing how many municipal treasurers are elected despite any real financial experience. Also, on the federal level, there are number of social programs that could be reduced if not eliminated altogether. I'd rather they cut spending than have us pay more. Blackmail
I thought you were in favor of usage taxes? If so, this is the perfect example. tax the hell out of tobacco, alcohol and marijuana in my opinion. Better the lettuce heads pay for our libraries and roads than broke-ass me. Again, I'd rather reduce spending than increase taxes. America has gotten fat.

They should make a THC pill.....and call it xanax....or wellbutrin, or St.Johns Wort.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is my public service announcement in opposition to marijuana (and other self-medication): So, I'm at a party and I'm talking to my friend Sammy. And Sammy is, generally speaking, wasted. He's usually had several joints before breakfast, and breakfast usually consists of whiskey. This particular evening he was "turning it up to 11", shall we say, and added some Vicodin to the mix. So I say to Sammy, "You're usually drunk and high, what does the Vicodin do for you?" and Sammy says "It's like this. When you're drunk and high, it's like two PLUS two. But when you're drunk and high and on vicodin, that's like two TIMES two," Right. That's still four, fucko. So, don't do drugs. They make you say things that are SO stupid, the phrase will live on LONG after your wasted ass is in the ground.
