honeymustard02
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick is my new fave when it comes to red. I have two different shades that I love. It stays put, but it also doesn't feather out like other lipsticks. I can also get a nice matte finish or shiny.
Fierce Critter
I switched to their ColorStay line a few years ago, and I'll then to CoverGirl Outlast, which is what I use now. I'll never go back to regular lipsticks. They discontinued my favorite, deep bloody red in the Outlast line. But luckily, I found an eBay seller specializing in discontinued cosmetics, and bought 10 tubes from her. Hopefully they won't break down chemically over the years!!! saechalyn
It's so interesting how different kinds work for different people. I hate colorstay. For a long time I loved Daring by Loreal when they were doing the Rouge Pulp thing. But it got discontinued and my last one finally got used up. I just bought Red Lizard by Nars (thanks muchly to Holliwood for the suggestion) and I adore it. Worth every penny.
Marblez
Very happy with colorstay. The selection is not dark enough for me so I blend with liner and am very happy with the long lasting results.
Brenda Starrr
Hopefully they won't break down chemically over the years!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They shouldn't, as long as you store them in a cool place and don't open them until you need them. ManicQueen
I've been using ColorStay in Vixen for years. I love it and don't plan on switching to anything else any time soon.
honeymustard02
I have been in a red stage and they have some pretty colors. There's only two that I really like with my skin tone though. I just like the fact that they stay and don't feather.

Onyx
I've been using ColorStay in Vixen for years. I love it and don't plan on switching to anything else any time soon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love that too. Stays on, wondeful color and most importantly - it doesn't have a horrible lipsticky taste. I just wish it was shiny, which is why when I want shine I use Lipfinity or Outlast. I love the way they stay on and how shiny they are with the shine stick thing. I do hate how they are so damn hard to remove and dry out my lips. If I could get the shine of the lipfinity combined with the non-drying color of the ColorStay I would be a happy camper. Does the Revlon have a taste? I can not stand to taste yukky lipstick. Does it shine or is it matte?

That's why I switched to the CoverGirl Outlast. MUCH better. I've been using it for years and it doesn't come off. I've never had any of the types of problems you're describing with it. From Onyx: I love [colorstay] too. Stays on, wondeful color and most importantly - it doesn't have a horrible lipsticky taste. Does the Revlon have a taste? I can not stand to taste yukky lipstick. Does it shine or is it matte? To make Colorstay shiny, I believe they have come out with different topcoats. I'm not sure. To remove, try mineral oil. I know CoverGirl Outlast comes RIGHT off (By the way, mineral oil also takes off the permanent marker they use on your hand at CC). To keep Outlast from being too dry, I never use their topcoat - I use Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. It's great - and bring it with you and reapply once in a while. As for your last question, Onyx, are you referring to the Super Lusterous?

I need to try mineral oil - have tried olive oil and makeup remover pads and still have to almost sandpaper the stuff off, heh. I haven't been able to find any topcoats for colorstay, just for the Lipfinity type ones.

It SERIOUSLY takes Outlast right off, and you don't have to scrub - both with the lipstick and the marker on the hand! You'll thank me! As for topcoats, don't hesitate to try other things as topcoats, either. I never use the ones that come with my tubes of Outlast - never. You might try the lipfinity topcoats with the colorstay, really. Maybe I'll even pick one up myself and give it a try. Though I tend to prefer a more matte look to my lipstick, not a gloss. Oh - someone mentioned in the other lipstick thread they use another Burts Bees product on their lips, and it gives their lips a cool feeling. They have the same ingredient in the beeswax lip balm that I use as a topcoat for Outlast. It's menthol and eucalyptus I believe. Makes my lips feel great, even with the Outlast. =)
Fierce Critter
Alrighty. I had to go back and edit EVERY one of my posts. All this time, I've been confusing Revlon ColorStay with CoverGirl Outlast. The Outlast is what I use now. The Colorstay is what I used to use. My responses all make a lot more sense now, and I don't come off as so confused. But any quotes of my previous posts will now be incorrect. To sum up, I used Revlon ColorStay when it first came out. It was horribly drying, and not all that permanent. I switched to CoverGirl Outlast and I've never looked back. I do not use any other lipstick now. I haven't bought a tube in over a year, but I hear they've improved the formula again so it's not as drying. They should pay me, the way I keep advocating this stuff.
Brenda Starrr
Outlast sucked for me. Colorstay did a little better. Just my .02.
