surround sound

So we got a new sound card and surround sound system for the computer right before we moved, and I put the card in last week, no problem. I didn't hook up the sound system until tonight, just because I figured it wouldn't be that big of a deal, I can hear music from the stereo on top of the fridge two rooms away just fine.

Well, when I set up the speakers, I put in some Depeche Mode, figuring, what the heck, it's something I know really well, I'l be able to balance off of it.

Holy CRAP! I've listened to "dreaming of me" about a thousand times over the years, but I've never ever ever heard all those parts before! I had no idea "new life" had so many vocal harmonies all the way through! I haven't even balanced the system levels yet, and it's already giving me eargasms because it sounds so good.

Ahh... the luxury of analog as it was meant to be.

:happydance

okay, enough of my silliness. On with the rest of the work.

I have a surround sound system on my computer. It definitely does make a difference. :)

I'm looking at buying a home theater system too...

We already had a theater system for the living room... but our old living room was so friggin huge and with such high ceilings, that the sound just kind of disappeared. Sure, it was a great improvement over monologue tv, but it didn't really hit me like computer system did.

Now that the living room is smaller, and the ceiling lower, it should get it's chance to show off.
