Super Bowl Weekend

Recommended Posts

It just dawned on me - I wonder what a mess Detroit will be that weekend.

I imagine it'd be hard to get a room at the Ramada. But I bet parking will be horrific, too.

I wonder if CC, the parking attendants, etc. will be raising prices that weekend.

And I bet the tourists in attendance will be many.

I know if I'm going, I'm writing something rude on my face. Like, Fuck Futball. Well, at least I'll talk about it and then probably not do it. :grin

Um...  :erm  did detroit make it into the superbowl?

don't throw things, I can't remember the last time I actually watched a football game that wasn't on a playstation.  and since I'm in Alaska, detroit isn't exactly depot central in the newspapers.

Actually, The Superbowl made it to Detroit :cool

The reverse will be a long time coming. :wink

ewww i dont even wanna think about what its gonna be like that weekend. i fricken live in detroit. just a few blocks from ford field. ewwww. madness is what i'm anticipating, sheer madness.

and since i never plan much more than an hour in advance on going to city, i cant say that the game will influence whether or not i go. but really, if you think about it, how many out-of-towners are really gonna know about city club much less how to get into it? i mean i know we get a lot of gawkers and they can piss me off but they live at least in the metro area. my ex lived in grand rapids and came out here and wanted to go (i was too young 2 go @ the time) and he couldnt even find the place, ended up in the labrynth and got led up to city by some guy and was so confused he said he prob couldnt find it again. i mean i'm sure a few more ppl might be @ city than normal, but i cant imagine the degree of gawkers should increase TOO much... then again i'm young and i find often that i'm rather stupid as well but this is my logic

I think that CC is going to be a waste of time that weekend. I have a feeling that there will be too much non goth traffic, and just alot of assholes. Something is going to go wrong too. I mean come on, nothing good happens in detroit.

Looks like this calls for the job of, RAMBO!! Mwahaha. My purpose is to actually scare off the normie people so therefore im defintely there....(Grins)

Exactly how I feel. I'll have to come up with something else to do that weekend....

I live only a few miles away from downtown. It's going to be hell with me getting to school and what not. It sucks yet rocks to live near the heart of the motor city.

That reminds me. I saw a bumper sticker the other day tgat said:

Cass Corridor

The *heart* of Detroit!

I couldn't stop laughing, it made me think of CC.

I'm planning on coming out saturday night to CC since they are advertising opening all three clubs again like they did for new years. Yeah it would be hell getting a room and parking will be a bitch but I'm betting it will still be a lot of fun. Sure they'll be a lot of gawkers and assholes but what's new for CC? I figure if i get into detroit early enough on saturday , I'll be alright. Maybe I'll go over to the casino and park there, play for a few hours and head over to CC afterwords. Least then I know my car is safe.

Seriously, though... it's such a true statement.  There are a lot of people who live in and really care about the Cass corridor.  You should check out the Dally in the Alley this summer, it's always a blast!

Mmmmm.... crawfish....

My sister and I both adore crawfish, 'specially the lil' sis. Of course, she's living in New Orleans now, so she definitely has better access to it now than most Detroiters.

So, if I am SO excited about this coming to Detroit that I am volunteering at the Winter Blast AND I am going to be in the half-time show of the Superbowl, does that mean I'm not jaded enough? I don't have to turn in my vinyl hot pants, do I?

On a related note, I don't even know who's playing in the Superbowl. The Lakers or something? Right...I just have to stand around and cheer for Mic, I don't actually have to watch football...
