Msterbeau
A few of you know already... I have a hernia and will be having surgery this Tuesday to have it corrected. Funny thing... Every time another doc checked me out they kept finding more things "wrong" down there. The list is currently: A Serious hernia on the left side, a smaller one on the right, small stones in the scrotum and varioceles (dialated blood vessels) on the left too. The surgery is outpatient... I should be home that evening, and then recovering the rest of the week. I'll be back to work the Monday after but will obviously be taking it easy for a few weeks. Oh... and they're going to do a vasectomy while they're in the neighborhood... :whistling That is all.

mallochai
Check this out. I have a friend (the guy who owns the house I'm living in) who did some research on hernia-related surgery costs. He ended up flying to London, tickets for both him and his girlfriend, paying for the surgery, paying for medication, and paying for a place to stay. The doctors did house calls, and the surgery is guaranteed for life. And for all this, it was still LESS EXPENSIVE than it would have been for him to have the surgery done here in Alaska by an american doctor, and more reliable too as far as relapses go. Madness. Good luck to ya, Marc.
