That show was like the first Jerry Springer. It was only on for 2 years and I was only 8 years old when it first aired so I had to sneak it in when my folks weren't looking.

He would do or say anything to get the guests on his show in a fight. Morton Downey Jr was cooler than the talk show hosts of today because he got involved in the fights rather than run like Jerry Springer. For an 8 year old that was some good TV that I had never seen before. I also recall him being at WrestleMania 5 on Piper's Pit with Brother Love and of course Piper.

Love him or hate him he did defend the working class Americans who were sick and tired of what people in Washington were doing with their tax money and rights.

His show ended when Morton Downey Jr claimed skinheads beat him in a public bathroom. They shaved his head and painted a swastica on it then it was later found that he did it to himself. How crazy is that?
