This just in:

For my party, the age of admission will be 18+

!!!

That's right, though Mephistos has gone to a 21+ establishment, for my party anyone 18 or older can come party with me. So I expect to see all of you there.

I'm e-mailing some info to the event planner tonight so I should have a flyer pretty soon I can post.

Their seems to be some confusion about who is djing on that night. After just speaking with the owner myself and Meta will be the only dj's on the main floor. No other dj's besides Todd have been booked for the second floor. Rumors that Pulsestate and Crashsite 68 will be djing that night are false. The night will be a great time and I hope Spook has a great birthday. You all need to come out and show him some love.

Ah, that's Mephistos for you. Bobbie manages all the entertainment and is handling my party. John owns and manages the club. One person says one thing, the other says another thing, and there's no communication between the two hence perpetual massive confusion.

You know I love you though Jinx and I'm sure it'll be great regardless of who's DJing. I specifically requested Pulse and Crash because their catalogs consist of at least 80-90% of the music I absolutely love. Nothing against you, Meta, Todd, Scary, and any of the other DJs. You all play some great stuff but the percentage of my favorites is less.

Hey, as long as I get my vinyl wearing redheads, I'm happy. :cool

Rock on!

thats so retarded...lets be a 21+ bar but have 18 year old employee's....wtf?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Actually, that's very common. 21+ is to restrict underage drinking problem because too many people decide to be fuckheads. If the cops catch somebody, then the penalties are very heavy against the bar, the bartender, the managers, and anyone else they can blame. Employees though aren't supposed to drink while working anyway so if an underage employee is caught drinking by the cops, then the bar can't be cited for underage serving since the employee is not a customer and the employment contract adds protection. Instead, the employee can be cited for underage drinking, fired, and even cited for theft as well.

To sum up, if an underage customer drinks, the bar is boned big time. If an underage employee drinks, the bar is usually safe and it's that employee that's boned big time. So, 21+ customers and 18+ employees makes perfect sense.

But, my party is 18+ anyway so no worries.

At least, that's what the manager and event coordinator told me. The owner may say something else and then we'll have the same confusion we had with the DJs. My party better be worth all of these headaches dammit!

Actually Bobbie only handles booking the second floor bands. It will def be a good night all around send us some songs you want played and we'll get on it.

OK Spook... Now ya did it!

I HAD red hair and you never said 1 thing...then I go to black and you have a party with red heads privilege....grrrrrrrrr.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yeah, well ... I had the idea for this party a year ago. I started planning it with Mephistos three months ago. I should have been promoting it since Jan 1st but nobody got back with me on this until just last week. Even then things aren't still fully organized if you couldn't tell by the DJ mix up above. So, everything I've been promoting may be completely false. Hell, even if I have to pay full cover to get into my own damn party, I'm still going to have fun. Not because of where it is, or what's going on, but of who's gonna be celebrating with me and that's all y'all. So thanks for coming on out. Hope for the best, expect the worst, and we'll party regardless.

I just got back from shopping at the mall with my friend Sabrina where I dropped a $C on new clothes from HT. More than likely I'll be wearing them to the party. Mmmm ... velvet pants. On clearance too. =D

Also, a shirt on clearance and boots at full price. Yeah, I just bought boots not long ago, but they're low calf high and these are high calf high. Plus I'm like a chick: I can never have too much footware, too many coats, or enough backbacks and duffles (instead of collecting purses).

Needless to say, the party IS on!!! There was a misunderstanding about the DJs so the two I expected to be there won't, but the ones that will be shall rock, and it will be good.

I also received verbal confirmation, in person, from the owner, that you will be able to attend my birthday as long as you are 18 years of age. If you're some random 18 year old that just wants into the club, then you'll be turned away. But if you say you're their for my party, then an exception will be made to let you in. Caveat: If I catch anyone under the age of 21 even holding an alcoholic drink ("I'm just watching it for a friend who's in the bathroom.") I will personally kick your ass. Mephistos is nice enough to throw a party for me, John's gracious enough to allow my underage friends in, and if anyone takes advantage of the club or its employees then they'll have to answer to me.

So, come celebrate a night of fantasy and party down with me on my birthday.
