yeah I sort of lump darkwave and deathrock and other subgenres in with regular goth. Which I guess is lazy on my part since I don't really consider ebm to be synthpop, I think there is a clear difference between say Joy Electric and Icon of Coil. Others tell me they think it all sounds alike.

Sorry for copping out, but ideally I do like a good mix more than anything else. I guess a more accurate answer for me would be a mixture of the first 4. I’ll break it down a little more for ya.

Futurepop/EBM is the easiest for me to dance to, but if I heard it all the time I’d be bored. I feel similar about synthpop. I love hearing old actual Goth classics, it brings back memories and puts a smile on my face, but I wouldn’t want to hear it all the time either. Every now and then I like to get my stomp on but usually I’d rather hear Industrial while, say, driving in the car. It’s great stuff but not my favorite to dance to. So a mix is best for me.

The problem with Goth music is it has so many sub labels. It's all the same to me, goth it is. =)

i voted goth...

lets face it people, its very rare that they play anything else but rave glow stick shit...(its not on the list)

the only reason i even go up to the shitty club anymore is to see friends.

i use to stay in the corner between the speaker and the d.j. booth but now i even find myself going there and never makeing it to the dance floor...

Mix ftw!

Really, I like some things from each of those genres, so it's not really a cop-out but a compromise. Just because I don't necessarily like the current song that's playing doesn't mean I won't like the next one. And just because I don't especially appreciate a particular song or the majority of genre, doesn't mean it's junk.
