Candy Bars From The Past

PB Max was my favorite

There was another one which was a breakfast bar (that might have even been what they were called).  Kind of a rectangle (I say that because it was a perfect rectangle covered in chocolate, about a half inch high, two inches wide, maybe 5 long.

Now those candybars were my favorite back in the day, but they slowly fazed out :(

WHO WANTS AIDS! (yes that's how it is pronounced)

WOW! I haven't thought of those Ayds ads in years. They always had the really dramatic before & after pics where a giant hippo woman would turn into either a Gidget-style beach bunny or Ginger from Gilligan's Island, plus these heartrending testimonials where this poor obese woman was constantly taunted & degraded... kind of the female equivalent of those "sand in the face" body building ads.

ISTR that Ayds disappeared from the market very quickly in the early '80s... don't think they even bothered changing the name, just said the hell with it.

Choc-o-lite... mmm... used to love those. Killer marketing- "let's give 'em half as much chocolate, fill the rest of the space with air, but still charge the same amount!" HW will have to bring us a case of Aero bars when he comes! (j/k- actually you can get 'em in the "internatonal" aisle at Meijer).

Weren't those breakfast bars called Space Food Sticks or something similar? I remember them having a bizarre dense waxy texture with flavor to match. Like Tang, they were a product of NASA's glory days. Poor astronauts.

Reeses's Crunchy, it was the same as the Reese's peanut butter cups but they had a layer of crushed nuts under the chocolate, oh my those were good. I don't know if any of you will remember the M&M Royals, they were all green and mint flavored chocolate on the inside.
