Calling all DJS

***Due to circumstances beyond our control, this portion of the DGN Event will have to be moved to another event, the DJ for the night will be our very own DJ Jinx, with a possible injection of some Phee ***

We are now putting together the lineup of DJ's for This Event.

Would you like to be considered?

Please indicate your interest here and DJ Jinx will follow up with you. As long as you are considered reliable and do not pose a destructive threat to the equipment...you may be a candidate.

Please consider what you will be playing and converse with eachother here and or in email/PM so that we don't have the Synthpop Top 10 in each set.

First I am not sure if I can get the night off of work but I assume I can, I will know for sure by Tuesday.

Secondly you wrongly deleted my post in the other thread and it hurt my feelings. :grin:

Thirdly I would play synthpop and future pop however my collection fetures more obscure stuff than you'll find everywhere else. I would play Brand New Idol, Red Flag, Hideous Input and other stuff I've never seen on the playlists from the local clubs. I have never DJ's except in my room but I would be the greatest DJ in the history of the world.

I guess it's already a given that I might very well be spinning.

We are definately keeping a playlist, thats for sure.

This way later DJ's can look back in the set and see what the others played, and know to not do that again.

SG, keep in mind that we (or at least Jinx) have an idea what you "plan" to play to minimize duplication.

I dont' think most DJ's "plan" to play anything though. I know I never go knowing what my set will be, I like to pick that on the fly. If I pree planned my set then I couldn't take requests easilly and I might as well burn two CD's with all the songs on them like I used to do for Audiotech Live (which I didn't mind because it is a netcasted show).

Most DJ's also bring a good majority of their music with them. I know I could DJ for at least 5-6 hours even without my computer just going off the CD's I own.

Gotcha Scary Guy. I do understand your point. Just need to make sure that you don't come with a solid set list and find that 1/2 of your songs have already been played!

I'll love to try my hand at playing some tunes.

Of course, nobody knows me...and I don't understand the likes/dislikes of the group enough to avoid creating a set that would piss everyone off

I might just take you up on that. I have not been to Mephistos before though. I'll have to check it out, and I won't have time to commit to anything until the end of semester.

Maybe I will see you at the party on the 28th? I'll have to wear a red carnation or something
