Which club?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Way to pay attention lol. I left it out to see who would ask or autimatically assume I was talking about CC.

Mephistos.

Damn dude that is really fucked up, seemed that not only everyone loved you there but even the owner as well. Hopefully you can find another opening position at a club soon (unless if you have diffrent things planned in mind).

I wasn't opener, I was alternate, I have never been the "opening DJ" I just ran the karaoke which is why I went on early. Just wanted to clear that up.

Anyhow I wrote the full thing down in my LJ finally http://scary_guy.livejournal.com/ if anyone wants to they can read it all there.

One of my analogies that no one else understands ;) :

There are two opposing views when it comes to live/local bands. Some will swear by cover songs as a way of getting a foot in the door, other swaer them off citing that no one ever gets anywhere with someone else's music.

My view is that the cover band is more likely to be able to get the bills paid and STILL be able to play, even mixing in their own songs with the covers.

I would suggest that you open yourself to playing what the boss wants to hear as long as he allows you some freedom of choice on other songs.... life works much better with compromise.

Now, if you can express yourself purely and still get the bills paid, well, more power to ya.

I'm sorry stuff didn't work out David.  Maybe city club will hire you just have the owner of Mephistos put in a good word for you.  There is always security at CC if u need work ask Chris.  My personal opinion you were the best dj they had their loss.

I wouldn't work at that shit hole if they actually agreed to pay out a decent wage. I really would rather just spin in my room than at city club. Also bar owners don't get along, even if they act like it.

But at least I actually have the option of going back, as a patron at the very least.

I wouldn't go back if they had the gall to fire me. Maybe you should have just spun what songs they wanted you to. In a job you can't really have self beliefs gotta do what your told sometime. You're definitely a rebel tho Dave
