SpidersMoment
Ok so recently i experimented with my hair. I wanted to dye it a billion shades of red (only ended up with 3) I originally planned to bleach/lighten a few chunks to have bright red in it's place. Well this blonde stuff, i got....i missed the part where it said that because of the no ammonia it will only lighten med to dark brown hairs (dont get confused, these dyes never say anything about redheads, i'm either strawberry blonde or dark brown to them) So i tried it out.....left it in for about an hour....then rinsed.....nothing. So i looked up online for ways to bleach your hair without spending a billion dollars on the box. No luck. Does anyone here know a way? (BTW, I'll have new pictures up later on today)
livininxtcgoth
i use quick blue when bleaching my hair. i had red hair a year or so ago and used it and it did make my hair rather orangeish and yellowish but if ur just trying to lighten and dye over it it should be fine. found @ ur local sally's, in lil blue pouches, if u have more than chin length hair i suggest buying 2 packets, and get developer, 30 is my reccomendation. good luck! They also sell Red Out Drops to add to the bleach this helps some too.
ManicQueen
I have naturally strawberry blonde hair too. I've bleached my hair to an almost white for many many years and I've been using BW 2000 Ultra Concentrated by Clairol and a 40 volume developer. I get these at Sally's. Using foil and applying heat speeds up the processing as well.

holliwood66
home remedies do not work, and will damage your hair more than store-bought products. I have medium brown hair with lots of red/gold. I used to bleach it white/platinum. My recipe: Clairol 7th stage: 1 bottle mixed with 3 lightening powder packets and 4 oz. of 20-30 volume developer. Saturate hair except for hair 1" closest to the scalp. Let it process under a plastic cap for 30 mintues then saturate the hair closest to the scalp with freshly mixed product. Process for an additional 25 minutes. Rinse with cool water, shampoo and apply PH normalizing conditioner *I like Reginal by Wella* for 5 minutes. Rinse. BLow dry hair with warm/cool air. Apply desired toner shade or tint shade. Process toner 10-20 minutes, blonde tints 20-40 minutes. I found that Roux Arctic blonde makes for the best cool-white toned hair. Cheers!
