ManicQueen
Does anyone else find it a little odd that all of a sudden, all these mines are giving in and collapsing or whatever is happening to it? Every week there's a new story on tv about coal miners being trapped. I don't recall ever hearing about such thing's like this, especially the number of them. I think it's a little suspicious :blink :laughing
DarkVampire
Just the news media trying to start something I would guess. Mining accidents happen all the time, it's part of the business. Which could be good that the media brings this up to light so to speak, than maybe there will be better safety measures and reforms in these types of jobs. The_Dark
As has been pointed out, mining accidents happen all the time. Compared to other parts of the world, mining in the US and Mexico is pretty safe though. China had 5,986 mining deaths in 2005. In contrast... there have been a total of 234 mining deaths in the USA since 1999. Thats 7 years... so... about 34 deaths per year in the USA. It's not so bad when you compare it to other countrys. This is all the mdeia needing something new to bitch about.
