If anyone is so inclined, there's a book by Francis S Collins called the Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief, which addresses alot of the issues that are flying around in this thread. In all fairness, alot of the ideas presented by Collins aren't new - they were first put forth by the likes of Aquinas of Lewis, but Collins definitely adds to them.

I also recommend reading Richard Dawkins book The Blind Watchmaker and/or The God Delusion.

If yiou've never read Dawkins you may come away from his book thinking he's perhaps a bit harsh, but I don't think he's harsh. He's just British.

Well I believe we came from something. I don't think "God" can be considered anything within human concept. From what I have come to realize you are here for 2 reasons, to reach a higher conscious and to live being a human. If we can figure out immortality than we can keep whatever thoughts and memories stored and forever know them, such as the creator. But all living things are meant to die, its part of the cycle. We are pretty much left here to fend for ourselves and survive, without much help or influence unless we figure out the inner workings of the universe through trial and error (science (not just modern either there is a science in everything)). Also surviving as a whole effects the rate of human survival. I think everything is connected on a certain level but there are different levels of existance and conscious.

Some people reach a higher conscious and some die off not ever becoming enlightened. I think when we die we all reach different levels of consciousness, some of us are higher and some of us lower. Whatever we do in this life and the assuming the after life does effect different levels of planes of existance. Some of us will reincarnate while others will have whatever they had dreamed and will continue experiencing their paradise dream while being connected with the highest of all planes of existence. Who knows some of us might become fuel for the stars feeling burning pain in order for life to live. Maybe some of us are the stars dreaming of their perfect world within their solar system. I believe when it comes down to it you are your own God because your "soul" or "life essence" was created by the creator to be similiar. This is by a higher conscious and being more evolved than most other living animals. A human can create, think, have emotions, have a conscious, interact with other humans and animals, speed up the life of the earth or keep it on its natural clock, ect. Therefore there are less restrictions on us than other animals, but other animals do have better adaptations than humans and instincts. But you can't say a group of deer have an advantage over a group of human hunters when it comes down to a battle for survival, especially with the technology of modern man. There has to be a transfer of energy in order for something to live.

As far as a soul I think it's either part of the energy flowing in or within the universe or its not. Some of us may be trapped and our spirit can not go on and be connected with the inner workings of energy in the universe. If it is, than that can explain why there are ghosts (if you believe in them) or other types of hauntings. Right now your soul is also trapped in your body, some of us can leave our body through meditations but we are still connected to our body. I believe our brain and mind is what connects us to the universe and its inner workings to some degree. I have heard that us humans only use 14% of our brains.

I view the universe as a coin, and most people can only believe which ever side they see. But its proven that energy can neither be created or destroyed but it exists. Maybe all of our souls are what makes up the creator and we are either a part of it regardless if we like it or not, but it determines whether we are a part of it or not the moment before two human reproduce. If you wanted yourself to work better wouldn't you do something about it, especially if your cells were lacking in nutrition? Maybe thats why we are sent here to learn about living, in hopes to return to the higher conscious when we die strengthing it. But its your choice to be a part of the inner workings of the universe (creator), or the outer (created). Whether you believe in a higher power or not. Also, can you see all forms of energy? No. Certain people can see more levels than others but you can't see everything.

The moment something is created to effect this world could have been a 1,000,000 years ago but once again it was created for a reason and its purpose will eventually follow. We might not receive it until another 1,000,000 years, but everything has a time of existance behind it, including our sun. As far as prophets, good or bad according to society, were able to reach a level of consciousness that most other people didn't. They either used their power for or against humanity. Also whats bad to one person could be very good for another, it just depends on the choices made and their values. But with every choice there is always a sacrifice.

In order for man to survive the near future its better for our levels of consciouness to be to similiar degree and us wanting to continue the existance of our species. I believe we are our own Gods by the choices that we make and by being contained within an earthly body. In order to rise as Gods of others we must reach a higher level of consciousness for better or for worse, knowledge is power. But the more minds there are behind powering an over all conscious the more powerful a source becomes. If one person can do it all by themselves than they have reach self sufficiency. Therefore it can be assume that they are able to use a higher percentage of their brain, mind, and soul.

I have many theories and views of how things work, and this sums up my view of "God". All in all everything effects everything, whether it happened 1,000,000 of years ago, in the inner workings of the universe, in the outer workings of the universe, transfer of energy, living, dying, ect. Everything is carried out and everything has been set in place either now, 1,000,000 years before, or a 1,000,000 years after. Thats how the universe unfolds, hence thats how the inner workings of the universe effect the outer workings of the universe and vise versa. The time effects both sides of the universe such as heat transfering from one side of a coin to the other. I mean our whole existance as human is only a few blinks of an eye in comparison to the whole universe. My views are very complicated and usually have long reasoning and consideration behind them.
