Lilith
craft stores are good places to look for odds and ends, clasps, hooks, charms even, and not just in the jewelery making isle, You can get packs of those rings they use on key chain which is very useful in allot of clothing/jewelry and they dont fall off easily. and are agood altenritive if you dont know how to soder. You can get all sorts of studs and gromets, snaps, use your imagination. Paints and fabric pens. Supplies to make you own iron ons, patches etc.... they also have tools for just about any small project. fabric stores for bits of leather for chokers, collars, belts, braclets threads needles, patches, buttons, more charms and iron ons, patterns to base designs off of. At Plumbing supplly houses i have seen the oddball item there that i thought would be great for something original. Also at lowes or Home depot you can get about any color electrical tape you want, is your out fit Red, well they do have that color as well as blue, yellow, green....... in the eletrical isle they should have this round rubber boot things, (you normally find them on you outdoor eletrical meter boxes around the hole where the main wire come in, keep water out), those could be used some how. Screws, bolts, nails, and of course tools for drilling holes, cutting metal, etc.....

Lilith
while out running errands i was day dreaming since i was not driving and i thought about this thread and the stores which might have items to use. I too crave uniquie cloths and accessories. :grin I saw Junk yards, old car parts, smaller parts that is no engines however, might work for soemthing. I have no idea what i just see the potential of endless industrial looking pieces to use. Oh maybe the emblems off of some old odd ball car? Computer stores, or old out dated computer parts, you can pick these up out of the trash even, tear up that burnt up hard drive see whats inside, I had a friend make a clock out of one once, turned out pretty sweet. Bottle caps off of glass bottles, I think i posted a link befor to a belt i had made. The handles for cabinets, you can find designed ones at allot of home improvement places, these can be great handles on purses, totes, cd bags, belt loops etc...... DarkRacer
If your good at riveting, try riveting various types of metal to your clothes, like brass or peweter. Just an idea mate, I'll think up some more later.
