If it's a joke, I don't find it funny.  However, I'm sure I'll get over it.

no it is not a joke. i heard about it on some show this am (i was looking to check something else and this was on good morning america or one of those types of shows)

sorry the site has a lot of ads. my browser pretty much blocks any pop ups so i didn't have any issues when i was on there though i didn't look at much on there ;)

No popups... just all the imbedded ones. Which I could turn off if I wanted too... :whistling

I just heard some bad news, so I'm in a grumpy mood.

However... I'll get over it.

I knew when it happened that it was a life changing event, I know it now. I won't be getting over it anytime soon.

I was 'over' 9-11 about a month after it happened, got tired of hearing about it and stopped turning on the tv or radio for some time just to get away. Did the same with Katrina.

but yesterday the 911 thing snuck up on me again. today, im back over it.

No, I wasn't joking, I knew right when it happened I'd be hearing about it for a LONG time to come. Samw with Princess Dianna, same with Katrina, same with Clinton, OJ, Columbine, etc...

I mean if you actually lost someone like Brenda did, fine, greve all you want. If you weren't affected directly or know anyone that was affected directly by it, shut up and stop sobbing. Life goes on and so do we.

After all, letting it change us is letting "them" win.

princess fucking di.

jeezus. she was good at media manipulation when she did but lets face facts. she screwed around throught her time as a princess and then has a go at charles when it was obvious that she did not like charles, and he went to see camilla, whom they should of let charles marry in the first place.

what pissed me off is the whole "candle in the wind" mourning period afterwards.

i was on show with the ATC the day before (handed out leaflets in warm weather in full harrier jumpjet gear), the day afterwards i was on duty with st johns ambulance at the same show, i did my rounds tagged allong with some of my ATC mates. we were out far away from the PA when they anounced a 2 minute silence (FFS, 2 minutes is all we give armastice day, and thats for people in all wars since the great war who gave limbs and life for us) my radio went phut, so i stood still, and used stad procedure on my handset (smacked the shit out of it holding the battery pack under your armpit) for 2 minutes, the ATC lot walked on.

up comes this sea cadet leader afterwards having a thromby at them (we didnt hear the anouncement!) for walking and yapping, and comandated me for standing still and silent.

people die in road accidents every day. do they get 2 minutes silence? did they suffer of some horrible conspiracy by nasty men? no.

just another day to sell gifts and sell complete runs of papers, plus public transport raked in cash with crowds of people who otherwise badmouth the monarchy paying thier respects.

ffs. i am engulfed in a sea of moronic plebs.

It's a good idea in theory it's just unfortunate that some that claim to be over it really aren't.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

- so true. and so sad that people just don't seem to know HOW to get over their "stuff" they need to get over.

I was over it the moment it was over. If you keep looking to the past, eventually you'll run into a wall for not looking to the future.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

-and again, so true.

so many people i know look to the past and make the same mistakes and can't get over things because they never stop doing what puts them there in the first place.

i can't say i am always over it the moment it was over - that would be nice! but i try to get over things in a good amount of time. some things are harder than others though that's for sure.
