Goths in a Positive Light for Once!

OK... now that I've actually read the article:

It reminds me of punks back in the late 70's early 80's. (And yes, I have firsthand knowledge/experience.. :whistling ) Many of them were cool people, creative, intelligent, etc. But it was only a small percentage that caused trouble, violence etc. They were the ones that tainted the moniker "punk". I'd single out these as the skinheads, but I knew some that were fine, so that wouldn't be entirely fair. I guess there are always going to be people who appropriate an image of some group but really don't ... for lack of a better word... belong.

They were talking about this on the radio this morning.

It made me think back, and I guess I was a bit goth in high school, even though I didn't look that way at all. I looked more like a Barbie doll, and it makes me cringe now to look at pictures.I did have the mentality and the interest in the arts and culture though.

My mom is a high school teacher, and she says that the goth kids are usually some of her favorites because they tend to be the intelligent and creative ones.
