Brenda Starrr
Can anyone tell me what the symptoms are? I don't feel very well, like there's a stabbing pain in my abdomen. It's like someone punched me, yet I'm hungry. Please help me. :tear
saechalyn
Usually nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea. I've had it a couple of times (YAY for salmonella!) and definitely did not feel hungry. Maybe it's just some really nasty gas pains?

Fierce Critter
I believe HW is thinking about possible appendicitis. Symptoms of appendicitis may include pain in the abdomen, first around the belly button, then moving to the lower right area loss of appetite nausea vomiting constipation or diarrhea inability to pass gas low fever that begins after other symptoms abdominal swelling Not everyone with appendicitis has all the symptoms. The pain intensifies and worsens when moving, taking deep breaths, coughing, or sneezing. The area becomes very tender. People may have a sensation called "downward urge," also known as "tenesmus," which is the feeling that a bowel movement will relieve their discomfort. Laxatives and pain medications should not be taken in this situation. Anyone with these symptoms needs to see a qualified physician immediately. Maybe it's just some really nasty gas pains? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Saechalyn got it right and I know because I had it once myself. There isn't any sign of hunger when it's food poisoning. Are there any other symptoms?
ManicQueen
Food poisoning has similair symptoms as the flu. Have you ever heard of the 24 hour flu? Well there's no such thing as a 24 hour flu, it's food poisoning. I do believe, the average person get's food poisoning 4 times a year... I could be wrong with the numbers but I know it's pretty close.
Brenda Starrr
Nope. None of the above. I just got back from the ER after having some really intense pain. It most likely was acid reflux. Yay.
honeymustard02
Sounds like what I had and that HURT. I went to the ER myself and they pretty much told me to go home take something over the counter then go see my regular doc. Figure out what causes it and avoid it like the plague! I had that same feeling for three days and couldn't eat or sleep or even sit because I was in such pain!
Brenda Starrr
They kept me there for SIX hours! They were poking me almost everywhere. I almost cried when the doc told me that he was going to stick his finger up my ass. When the nurse took my I.V. out, I wouldn't stop bleeding. I have to call the gastroenterologist today to set something up with him. I'm just dying to have another finger (or worse) shoved up my effen ass. Not. Msterbeau
I'm just dying to have another finger (or worse) shoved up my effen ass. Not. I got that treatment when they were diagnosing my hernia. :doh On another note. The guy that sits next to me was gone yesterday for similar reasons... Brenda Starrr
All I know is that it wasn't fun. It amazes me how upset I get over certain things. Like, you know I have tattoos and piercings, but I cry like a baby when they come to take my blood. And I bled like a mutha when they took my I.V. out. I've never bled like this. honeymustard02
I wasn't that lucky. I got asked a few questions, he poked my fat rolls and told me I had acid reflux and to go home.
Brenda Starrr
If getting lucky meant having a rubber glove coated finger shoved up my ass, then it was a good night.
honeymustard02
I just meant that at least your doctor checked you from head to toe. Mine didn't really listen to me and sent me home even though when I had my attack I couldn't breath and I was all clamy and sweaty. cptdeath
i'm really sick right now missed work and everything. my simptoms include abdomanel pain and very painfull well diareah some vomiting and yes i still have my appitite. muscles are sore a small headache and more abdominal pain. i can't even drink water it runs right through me in like 20 minutes. personnally i think it's dysentary but that might be an exageration. what the majority of people have is a virus called the NORWALK VIRUS i have a friend who is a health inspector and they tell me it's a virtual epidemic transfered by air you could get it from someone who left the room 20 minutes before you got there. i did'nt eat any bad food either. it would be nice if someone could find a link somewhere with info on the NORWALK VIRUS. cptdeath
apendicitis is extreamly rare. out of all the hundreds of thousands of people i ran across in my life only one had it in 7th grade and she missed half a semester. i highly doubt it could be that
cptdeath
i also have suffered for a long time with acid reflux disease. lack of sleep or sudden physical activity causes savere heart burn and sometimes the occasional acid breath. i found that quiting cornsyrup clears it up after a few days. also don't drink clear liquer. but what helps the most and i will swear by it is NEXIUM. 4 years ago i would go through a roll of tums in a day. but one nexium and your all good actually better then good. your wothless doctor who makes you wait six hours to charge you 50 bucks and send you home he has samples lots of them. next time ask for some samples of NEXIUM. being overweight also contributes to acid reflux
