Bren,

I have a few pics of the mounds somewhere. At least the area they are in. It's really had to see them in pics as they are.. well.. big. Not tall at all, just 197feet in diameter on the inside... 210 or so on the outside. Pics just show the trench that goes around them and losts of trees.

lmao, sorry Dark, I went through and this was all that I read.

How big is it Dark?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That is so cool dark!  What a find!

Maybe it came from a cave formation or something..is it salty at all?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It's about a half inch long and has about the same diameter.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Too small to be an Egg McMuffin.....

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Take out all the moisture and it could probably get that small. LOL

I had a dream about this "thing" lastnight Dark. I wonder if you could take it to the local county musem ... and find out what it is.  Im sure if you called one up they would be willing to take a look at it for you. I'm so curious....

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

i volonteer phee to taste it

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I've already tasted it... hence it looking wet in the pics... it tastes like stone. Go figure. Looking at books about fossils.. the closests thing I can find is a jelly fish... but that would mean this was 3 jelly fish sqaushed together with a hole down the middle.

and Marc.. I have it in my hand and I cant really tell what the non-sand part is.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Interesting rock though. Maybe pottery.

OK. Finally heard back from my sisterinlaw. She took my pics to the head of the Paleantology department... seems I found something cool. It's a Crinoid, or at least a piece of one. It's somewhere between 200 and 500 million years old.

Here is a pic of a complete fossil.

This is what a moderen one looks like:

Where does the circular "donut" shape part come in? At the base?
