A big ouch

Damn I'm hurting.

My allergies have been giving me hell these past few days and now I have this nagging cough. Earlier I coughed a little too hard and felt this sudden sharp pain in my mid chest and mid back area. Now I'm in pain. :tear

I couldn't hardly move without searing pain in my upper torso. Took some pain killers and now it just feels like someone's pushing in my sides from under my arms.

Did I mention --- allergies suck!

This much pain in this area is very new to me. I can't move my arms away from me without feeling sharp pain. Leaning back hurts -- leaning forward hurts. I won't even think about moving from side to side. Sitting straight up is my only option right now.

I think I pulled a bunch of muscles all at once. Every movement has to be done slowly.

This sucks. :doh

It only started hurting this bad after you coughed hard? Or do you think you may have wrenched/twisited something recently?

The flu can make your entire front ache like a bitch. You have any symptoms of that? It can do some really bad things to your body, that you wouldn't even think.

Here are the differences of a cold & the flu;

Cold: Starts with scratchy throat, usually followed by sneezing and a runny nose. Can include, cough, fatigue and a high fever.

Flu: Can include scratchy throat, runny nose. Will include fever, severe body/abdominal pain, headaches, chills and fatigue.

Got that from my medical book. Good luck.

Thanks Miranda -- I'm pretty sure it's not the flu or a cold. My allergies always kick in this time of year. Running nose and stuff and then I have a cough for a few days then it's all better. But this time I coughed too hard and now I'm in pain like I've never felt before.

I don't feel sluggish and have no fever. Also I've never had this kind of pain while being sick so I'm guessing I pulled some muscles. If it persists then I will go see a doctor.

Thanks for the help though. =)

It sounds like you pulled your Intercostal muscles.

While I'm not familar with muscle names you're prolly correct about that B. This morning I had a hell of a time getting out of bed without feeling pain in my back. I had to use my arms to push myself up and it still hurt some. This must be what senoirs go through. (j/k) :whistling

Damn allergies.
