Heard from the political grape-vine. It doesn't end Tuesday night. Apparently lawyers on both sides of the line are gearing up for another fight like 4 years ago. Even if there is a clear winner, votes and voters will apperantly still be fought over in the courts. Like the whole Ohio thing.

Yah, well, I'm not too overly surprised by this kind of action. It's not like they've not been at each other's throats for the last six months. I'm surprised they made it through the debates without getting into a fist fight. Both of them seek to win at all costs.

Yeah. I'll be heartened if there's an unexpected big gap between the two, but prepared for much haggling in the courts and such.

Hopefully, at least, none of the news media will declare a "winner" before there really IS one this time. THAT was beyond annoying in 2000.

Already found some problems this morning.

When I left this morning there was a bright green flier on my door from the Macomb Democratic Party telling me where to go and vote. The problem was that they had the wrong place listed. I contacted the Macomb County board of elections and by this afternoon new fliers were put out by the Democrats with the correction but I fear that some of the elderly folks who live by and people who might be new to the neighborhood may have gone to the wrong place and might have been confused.

Also the news has been showing long lines all day and that almost kept my grandmother from going out. She's 82 and I'm sure standing around for a long time is scary for her. When I took her to her polling location there were long lines (30-40 people waiting) at 2/3 of the precincts but her precinct had only 5 people waiting. I just wonder how many people won't go and vote because of the lines?

Here's hoping there are no major snafus and we know who won in short order.

My polling location had 2 precincts. It was odd to see, there was about a continuous 15 person line at precinct 4, but the precinct 8 line had 1 voter the entire time I was there. The poll workers at 8 looked quite concerned (and possibly bored).

I wondered if there was a mixup about where precinct 8 was supposed to vote.

    • Feeling happy to report that my neighbor and her cat are now back together.  I build her fur baby an indoor Cat Run and now the cat and her 3 kittens have been moved in.  I told my neighbor to make sure the little ones stay with their mother for at least 3 days in their new environment before she starts letting people handle and take the babies away.    I wish she would keep at least one of the 3 kittens, but apparently they are all already spoken for.

    • Well it happened, understandably but it still sucks.  I hated them both so I was going to be unhappy either way, but I do admit I hate Trump slightly more because of the narcissism, egomania, xenophobia, and misogyny.  On top of that that insufferable base of his who think that they are free to act the same way now that he's won.  The apologetics from them were horrible too where they handwaved away legitimate criticisms, and mocking those who brought them with "orange man bad!"   The one good thing to come out of this is punk music is going to absolutely rock for the next few years.  However I really just have one question... https://www.loudersound.com/features/andrew-eldritch-sisters-of-mercy-will-make-another-album-if-trump-is-elected IT'S HAPPENED TWICE NOW ANDY, WHERE'S OUR FUCKIN' ALBUM‽ Well, I guess at least I'll get to keep my guns.
