Authorities Search for Source of Fatal Drug Mixture

(5/22/06) — Authorities are seeking the source of a lethal mixture of a pain control drug and heroin or cocaine. The investigators are working with the Drug Enforcement Administration and have tested heroin samples seized in the Detroit area to determine whether they were cut with fentanyl.

Four deaths were reported Thursday in Wayne County — followed by eight Friday. All the victims apparently overdosed on a combination of narcotics and fentanyl — a painkiller used by patients with terminal cancer.

Wayne County issued a health advisory Friday about the danger. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention officials plan to travel today to Detroit to investigate.

A friend of mine od'd on the fentynol/heroin mixture. He called me a few days later after getting out of the hospital and told me where he got it from.

I panicked. He told me what it looked, smelled and tasted like. 30min prior I had done 2 packs. I became super tired and slept hard for 4hrs. I then spent the next day puking violently. I returned to the dealer and informed him of my mishap. He laughed and said he had never made so much money as when the story hit. Everyone wanted his shit when they heard people were dying.

I've never been so fucked up in my life with that stuff.

I think that's why some die from it, not realizing just how concentrated it is and how small of a dosage can be too much. I remember a case where some hospice workers were in trouble for accidental overdoses of Fentanyl.

I like the way some of the families of the deceased are all, "These needless deaths could've been prevented if the cops had just warned everyone ahead of time that this heroin was bad. They've known all along."

Pardon me for being a prick but cops have been saying heroin is bad for years. So what if this batch was extra bad? It's their own damn fault for shooting up in the first place. Maybe if they obeyed the law or used a couple brain cells and avoided heroin altogether, then these deaths could've been prevented.
