Us old Goths deserve some respect

Crank, er sorry, I mean Dark....hold on, let me go back and check what your new name is.....

Darque Metallion,

I am sick of old goths. You guys don't know how to dance and you have bad haircuts. But what I hate most is young goths with their techno rave b.s. masquerading as real goth. So, I propose that City Club only lets people in who are between the ages of 29 and 31.

It's like I am sick of the tunes you senior citizens listen to like Bauhaus and Sisters of Mercy, ok I admit I own alot of their stuff and yeah I listen to it alot. But the young goths with their VNV Nation graver b.s. drives me crazy. Ok yeah I put VNV Nation in my top ten favorite bands at the moment.

Well shit, I guess I don't mind older goths. or younger goths.

wait, what was this thread about again? Oh yeah, Darque Metallion, since I'm almost as old as you I was wondering if I could borrow your hearing aid so I can listen to my new VNV Nation CD and I need to borrow your walker so I could show these young wipper snappers how to dance to Bauhaus.

A quick primer on goth dancing:

Movement the first - the Dreamy Druid: Stand in one place, feet flat. Tip head back and slowly circle head around 360 degrees, as if working out a kink in the neck. Add some shoulder sway to enhance the "Druid in trance" flavor. Arm movement is up to the individual, but should not exceed slow flutters of fingers while hands weave back and forth in front of dancer's face, or dreamy extensions of arms from front to back while also slowly fluttering hands & fingers.

Movement the second - The Jim Morrison curtsey/bow: Extend one leg out in front of you, remaining on toes. Rock butt backwards and dip down as you swing (or alternatively slide) front leg around to back. Reverse action, bringing back leg back to front. More advanced students can add a foot switch wherein the body is turned 180 degrees with each swing of leg from front to back and vice-versa.

Movement the third - The Dead Really Can Dance: check out some belly dancers, imitate - badly. Best performed solo to slower songs.

Movement the fourth - The Dirty Dance of Damned Duos - Perform all of the above, with a partner, mirroring each other. The female should occasionally perform the Third Movement with her back to the male, adding a butt grind to the crotch while the male feels her up from crotch to mouth from behind, ending with a overtly suggestive dip of a single digit into her mouth.

Variations on these moves should be kept to a minimum. If you attempt too much more, consider whether or not Techno/Rave 101 is a better choice for you.

Oh and for the record......I had a door man say I was too old for CC.  I think maybe even the management wants to keep the club 'young'.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Well that sucks. What an asshole.

Was insulted about my age at Movement over the weekend, just don't feel comfortable hanging with kids anymore.

Hence the reason its 18 and over. Mike likes young boys. I guess that's the "benifit" of owning your own club.

What the fuck is wrong with some people... I like seeing older (say 40+) people at CC because it kind of validates why I'm there in a way. Like it's not just a place for immature raver wannabes to act hardcore.

Ugh. I think I have to go spit now.

Hey CrankHey Crank,

When the little pissers give me tude because I look like an early thirty something I just say "If only you knew how old I really was, then you'd find out how water proof your vinyl really is."

How ever I seem to spend more time at the Lab when Im out that way and never had that problem there.
