Why do DGNer's do this?

Why whenever someone brings up a personal issue on DGN do people automatically take their side?

Usually someone will say "this person is a liar or a cheater"

and then DGn people will reply "oh you don't need them, sorry they are being a jerk" (or "evil" in a recent case).

You don't know the whole story but you're willing to pass judgement anyway?

Does it bother you that the person being villified may also be a DGN member and read it?

i was going to say this, word for word

i don't do it but it happens, all the time. i see my friends do it all the time too. it has happened to me and it has happened as a result of me. it just happens. people think they are being loyal i suppose. but i think it is pointless. you don't have to take sides when the issue is NOT yours.

1.Because it natural for people to side with others that they care for, I completly understand it , but that doesn't mean I like it.

2. People don't understand that other people on the board are involved, there for they are only trying to make the person feel better about the situation, not knowing they are outting someone.

3. Some people need reasurance, that they are right or have a right to feel this way, the know their ex SO/GF/BF/ Bestfriends and lovers are memebers of this board .. yet they post about shit anyway, I believe it is because they want them outed, they want everyone on their side, they let the emotion of being hurt and angry take over their better judgement. People on DGN that are not aware the this "other person" is also on the board are nothing but pawns in a mindgame between ex's and or ex friends.

That being said it all comes down to if your well liked on the board, I hate to say it but it does. I'm not pointing fingers, I happen to like everyone here (well with one exception) but it doesnt change the fact that it comes down to that.

I don't care when it's been done to me, like sunday morning when I was mentioned here - I can take it. But it's ridiculous when people are getting called names and no one is quite sure of the truth.

I also find it odd that an adult would take their personal issues with someone to Myspace or DGN or livejournal or whatever. I like John Hughes movies and all but it seems rather highschool to solve your problems by villifying someone on the internet.

the other day there was a link to my profile and my name was mentioned. I am not sure what else could be needed. Now I didn't really care, I found it funny.

But I can think of other cases where DGN names were used and people still responded.

All I can say is that I'm sorry to have posted that...I let my emotions get the best of me...and I acted incredibly immature and over reacted...I'm so sick of drama and try to avoid it...yet..I cause more drama in my fear of losing freinds...I fear I'll lose freinds but probably cause more loss of freinds in that fear...My apologies will be given to those whom I need to apologize...again I apologize to the board and it's members for my immaturity...
